The integrative approach between body and mind connection is what sets me apart as a holistic therapist
I have over twenty years of academic and experiential experience of working with the physical and psychological as an integrated approach to wellbeing.
My qualifications include a BSc Sports Science, A Masters in Positive Behaviour Management, A Degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy and A Graduate Diploma in Counselling.
My training is extensive and wide ranging, with much continuous professional training.
My work covers a range of issues including :
mental health
physical and emotional burnout and stress
body issues
physical wellbeing
bereavement
depression
eating issues
weight management and self esteem issues
issues arising from college and the work place
sport injuries and abstinence of physical exercise and effects physically and psychologically of same
Changing negative behaviours and emotions through movement and exercise
Understanding the signals from our bodies connected to mental health
Teenagers, struggling with school, family dynamics, peers or general anxiety is a particular area of expertise for me
I also provide workshops on exercise and mental health and have had excellent feedback on these. On a personal note I work with complex needs in a psychiatric setting and use exercise and the pillars of self care as part of my approach to well being.
In my practice I regard and treat physical health as an indicator of mental heath and vice versa and will work on body signals/ distress as a mental health measure.
I can even offer Counselling over a walk or slow jog, such is the importance I place on the holistic frame work of wellbeing.
Sessions offered in person/ online.
